Vitoria-Gasteiz & Rioja Alavesa Day Trip

A la hora indicada, nos reuniremos en el punto de encuentro de Bilbao seleccionado para poner rumbo al sur. Durante el trayecto, dejaremos atrás los bosques del norte para dar paso a las vistas espectaculares de los viñedos y las bodegas que salpican la prestigiosa región vinícola de La Rioja.

Our first stop will be at a unique traditional winery, excavated underground. There, we'll learn firsthand about the artisanal winemaking process and enjoy an exquisite tasting of their best wines, true liquid gems of the region.

We'll continue on to Laguardia, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. We'll take a walking tour of its medieval centre, admiring its fortified architecture and stately homes. At the end of the tour, you'll have free time to have lunch in its typical restaurants and explore its corners at your leisure.

In the afternoon, we'll visit Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country. We'll stroll through its historic centre, where medieval tradition coexists in harmony with modernity. As a grand finale, we'll stop at a renowned artisan chocolate shop to taste typical sweets, delighting in the most select flavours of Basque pastries. Delicious!

Finally, we'll make our way back to Bilbao, where we'll conclude this experience after 9 hours of cultural and wine immersion.

Vitoria-Gasteiz & Salt Valley of Añana Day Trip

We'll meet at Calle Alameda Mazarredo, number 65, to depart for Vitoria-Gasteiz. Upon arrival in the capital, we'll take a panoramic tour along the city's main avenues until we reach Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, where we'll begin a guided walking tour of its historic centre.

During the tour, we'll dive into the so-called medieval heart of Vitoria, one of the best-preserved old towns in northern Spain, which will captivate you with its distinctive layout. We'll stroll through narrow, cobbled streets steeped in history and dotted with Renaissance palaces, stately homes, and remnants of the old city walls.

After exploring Vitoria-Gasteiz in its entirety, we will head to one of the most unique and distinctive landscapes in northern Spain: the Salt Valley of Añana. We will discover this impressive salt valley with over 10,000 years of history, where salt is still produced using traditional methods today.

We'll learn all about the traditional salt extraction process, as well as its historical and cultural significance. To complete the visit, we'll enjoy a tasting of different types of salt, ideal for appreciating their nuances and high quality.

Finally, we'll return to Bilbao and conclude the day trip 6 hours later.
